To support the PR & Communication department of Discovery Benelux with their sports offering on discovery+, Vertigo 6 supported the team gathering free publicity, acting as a specialist within the area of PR & Communications focused on sport. We have supported discovery+ with big sporting events like Roland Garros, Wimbledon, US Open, Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, La Vuelta and UFC.

To maximize PR coverage we used different methods. Besides the more traditional support of writing and distributing press releases we also created Whatsapp groups with local media for the different sporting events. During the events Eurosport and Discovery Benelux offered short clips of the events, which media were able to embed on their website. In return media used a deeplink in their source reference, linking to the website of discovery+.

We were also able to arrange interviews with sporting legends like John McEnroe (tennis), Mats Wilander (tennis), Kim Clijsters (tennis), Alberto Contador (cycling) and Bradley Wiggins (cycling).
