Electrabel Watt Game now live!

Zwolle, April 14 2014. In 2013 Vertigo 6 was selected by GDF Suez (The Netherlands) to advise on gamification. Gamification is the use of game thinking and game mechanics in non-game contexts to engage users in solving problems.

Gamification has been studied and applied in several domains, such as to improve user engagement, physical exercise, return on investment, data quality, timeliness, and learning. A review of research on gamification shows that most studies on gamification find positive effects from gamification. We’ve set up a longlist, shortlist and pitch and selected a game developer to develop a game that makes energy consumption more engaging, fun and social. The Electrabel Watt Game has been developed by Flavour Games. The game is now live and playable on game.electrabel.nl and via www.funnygames.nl. Most games have a energy bar. The energy bar in The Electrabel Watt game gets more energy as soon as you shut off real energy (/power) in your own household or when you get new energy from your friends!

As of 2010 GDF SUEZ employs 236,000 people worldwide, including 1,200 researchers and experts at 9 R&D centers, with revenues of €84.5 billion. GDF SUEZ is listed on the Euronext exchanges in Paris and Brussels and is a constituent of the CAC 40 and BEL20 indices. Source: Wikipedia.
