STRATEGY CARD GAME CHRONICLE: RUNESCAPE LEGENDS GETS MAJOR UPDATE – NEW SLAYER MASTER LEGEND, AGGRESSIVE GAMEPLAY AND A HOST OF NEW CARDS ARRIVE

Wednesday 13th July 2016, Cambridge, UK – The next chapter of Chronicle: RuneScape Legends has begun with the launch of a major update, six weeks after the critically-acclaimed online strategy card game debuted on Steam for PC. The 1.4 update brings with it the highly anticipated, sixth Legend – Morvran, the Slayer Master. Players will have to use their wits and guile to secure success and reap the rewards, as they strive to add the Legend to their collection.

Morvran’s addition to the line-up of Legends is free, only requiring players to take on and defeat the Slayer Master himself. Bringing with him a new set of unique tactics and strategies to use against their foes, as well as 37 new cards and two additional character skins, players will be able to forge their own quests and customise Morvran to make him their own. As the Slayer Master, the Legend’s aggressive nature and array of violent monster cards make him a formidable opponent for all who encounter him. Players will have to adapt to this new style of gameplay to thrive!

The addition of Morvran precedes the game’s first-ever event, Beach Party, which begins later this summer. Debuting three new, sun-soaked, tropical environments, the event will also see the inclusion of new community quests – where players have to work together to succeed – as well as rewards such as exclusive cards for taking part.

“Chronicle’s launch on Steam was just the prologue of our own quest to continue delivering a strong line up of content for the game. The addition of Morvran as our sixth Legend will shake up the strategies and tactics of even top Platinum-ranked players, but he is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of planned content for the rest of the year and beyond,” said James Sweatman, lead designer, Chronicle: RuneScape Legends. “We’ve had great feedback from gamers across the world since Chronicle launched in May, and we’re looking forward to continuing our journey with them!”

Since launch at the end of May, more than a million games have each been played using Ariane and The Raptor across Chronicle’s many gameplay modes, including the hardcore Ranked mode, and draft Dungeoneering mode. Delivering a unique twist on the card game genre, combining tactical PvE with strategic PvP gameplay as players fight their own cards as well as their opponents, Chronicle is now available for PC from Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/205890/).
